I have decided to write an article about UPVC discontinued parts, which I have document with photographs.

However some later style locks, handles and mechanisms can be converted to fit your old style Double Glazing. Many other Double Glazing repairers do not offer is conversion service as it is more profitable to install new windows and doors. The Window Wizard does not offer an installation service and because of our technical knowledge we are able to go the extra mile and capable of a complex and more difficult Double Glazing Repair service.

 Why some UPVC Parts have Discontinued

Due to the current economic climate I have noticed that a lot of lock and hardware manufacturers have gone out of business. Furthermore reduced their range of hardware.

Additionally I have also noticed that a few new double glazing repair companies have appeared. However most are window fitters that have lost their jobs and see double glazing repairs as an easy side line!

Fitters don’t have the same knowledge and expertise as a repairer like myself with years of experience of converting different types of locks and window mechanisms to save my customers the expense and disruption of have a new door or window fitted that might not even match their existing double glazing.

In fact there are many so called double glazing repairers, who’s background is that of a glazier or DIY man. Not to mention they do not have the knowledge or skills to carry out the conversion work. Such as a retro fit to a new locking system to a door or window.

If you need a new door or window lock fitted and your existing lock is discontinued, 9 out of 10 times I can convert your window or door with another make / style of lock and it will work like new again.
